The Valencia Auto Center Celebrates Earth Day
Earth Day (April 22) is just around the corner! To commemorate this important day, we here at the Valencia Auto Center would like to share some
eco-friendly tips with our blog readers. These are easy yet helpful actions that all of us can take in order to reduce our carbon footprint and protect our planet.
Environmental Tips
- Reduce. Buy only what you need to reduce unnecessary waste. Also buy products with little packaging when you can.
- Reuse. Opt for reusable items instead of disposable ones to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions created during the production and distribution of new items.
- Recycle. Set up a simple system in your house to make sorting your trash a breeze. Have a bin or container for each of the following: recyclables, compostables, landfill trash, green waste, and donations.
- Turn off the lights when you leave the room. Unplug electronics and appliances when not in use.
- Choose an earth friendly car when it is time for a new vehicle. According to the Air Resources Board, the total emissions produced by on road transportation (passenger vehicles and heavy duty trucks) in California for the year 2006 were 170.55 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, or about 467,260.27 tonnes per day.
Since hybrid cars offer better gas mileages, they are advantageous for the planet as well as your wallet. Gas is very expensive nowadays, but you can save more with an eco-friendly car.
Several low emission cars and zero emission cars are available from the auto dealers at the Valencia Auto Center. With all these different makes and models, there is a right vehicle for you and your family.
