The elements can cause harm and wear on a vehicle’s paint job. Rust and wear can harm not only the overall appearance of the vehicle, but can also eventually cause holes and deterioration to the body of the vehicle as well.
Oxidation will cause the existent paint on the vehicle to lose its luster and fade as the process worsens. This will cost the owner of the vehicle to have to spend a significant amount of money having the original color and luster of the finish restored.
The absolute best way in which to cease the process of oxidizing car paint on one’s vehicle is to take the necessary steps to prevent the process from taking seat or beginning. One easy to perform and affordable means in which to do this is to wash and wax the vehicle regularly.
First the individual will want to wash the vehicle thoroughly. Makes sure to pay close attention to remove all of the grit from the surface of the vehicle because this grit will scratch the finish as one buffs it. Once the vehicle is washed and dried with a soft, scratch resistant rag, it is time to apply a polishing compound to the vehicle. Once again, this should be done with a soft, scratch resistant cloth.
Apply the polishing compound in circular motions applying it to small areas of the vehicle at a time. It is highly suggested that an orbital buffer be used to buff the area where the compound has been applied. Make sure to use the low speed setting on the buffer when doing this. Always move the buffer in up and down motions across one panel at a time. Keep the buffer moving and prevent from stopping in any one place for more than two seconds at a time.
Continue this process around the entire surface of the vehicle. If there is one spot that seems to have a more stubborn auto paint oxidation problem, spend a little more time on this section. Keep in mind though to keep the buffer moving. Simply go over the spot numerous times. Once the individual is satisfied with their buffing job, it is time to apply the wax that will protect the vehicle.
In terms of reversing lower grade issues with oxidizing car paint, this should do the trick. The washing, buffing then waxing process will also aid in preventing the vehicle from developing an auto paint oxidation problem.
